TJ walked with kids at Whitney Elementary & Community Center as part of ‘Walk 150’ - Encouraging kids to be fit and active during ‘Unplug and Be Outside’ week in the Treasure Valley! Walking is a great way for children and adults to get active and to combat the increasing rates of obesity in our community.

"I have committed to participate in the American Lung Association Fight for Air Climb in Boise on April 27, 2013. My goal is to climb both stairwells in the U.S. Bank Plaza building - a total of 38 floors – TWICE, to support the ongoing efforts to fight lung disease. March 15, 2013 - TJ Thomson addesses healthy initiatives:
Idaho Statesman: "City Councilman T.J. Thomson said promoting healthy, active lifestyles for Boise's children is his "No. 1 priority" in city government. [It's] a matter of shepherding public health, one of the city's core responsibilities, he said. "Local communities, municipal governments in particular, have to step up and play a major role here if it's not going to happen at the state level, which it's not." Thomson said."

February 20, 2013 - Boise Fire Fighters Endorse TJ Thomson:
The Boise Fire Fighters Union announced their support of TJ Thomson for re-election to the Boise City Council.
January 30, 2013 - 30th Street Extension Road Project Begins
TJ Thomson joined other officials from the City of Boise, Ada County and Ada County Highway District to "turn shovels"" at the groundbreaking of Boise's 30th Street extension road project. In the meantime, Boise City recently opened the new whitewater recreation park on the Boise River in that same general area, and plans are under way for the Esther Simplot Park between the Boise River and the new road.
